What this role is

Please read this carefully before applying. It is the most important page on the site.

NH Media Zone is an independent regional news organisation. Approved members of our network are called Citizen Journalist / Digital Media Correspondent.

This is an internal editorial role at NH Media Zone. It is not a government-issued press credential. It does not grant any legal, police, or governmental authority. It does not entitle the holder to enter restricted areas, to demand information from any authority, or to identify themselves as "Press" or an "Accredited Journalist."

Important: NH Media Zone is not currently accredited by the Government of India / Ministry of Information & Broadcasting as a press organisation. Nobody carrying our card is a "Press" holder in that sense.

What the role gives you

  • A regional beat (usually your PIN code / district).
  • A named byline on every story you file that is approved by our editors.
  • A digital NH Media Zone Citizen Journalist ID card, valid for one year, showing your name, region, ID number and this disclaimer.
  • Access to the correspondent dashboard for submitting stories and tracking review.

What the role does not give you

  • No police, legal, or governmental authority of any kind.
  • No entitlement to be treated as government-accredited press.
  • No right to publish anything directly — every story is reviewed by an editor first.

Membership

Membership is an annual subscription of 999. You will be reminded well before it expires. Refunds are covered in our refund policy.

Verification before approval

Before your ID is issued, our editors verify your government ID, contact both of your references, and review your application. Only when all verification steps are complete can an admin issue an ID. See our editorial policy for how stories are checked before publication.
